When you call in to Unlockit, we’ll gather information to determine the best solution for you. We may ask for pictures and if we’re not able to set an appointment while we have you on the phone, we’ll offer to call you back or send you options via email. If parts are needed, we’ll order them and call you when they arrive to set an appointment. 

When a lock is rekeyed, the pin combination within the lock is changed so that old keys no longer operate the lock. As long as the lock is functioning as it should be, rekeying is the most cost effective way of getting new keys.

Our team recommends rekeying when you move into a new home or if a key to your home has been lost or stolen.

In order to rekey locks so they work on one key, the locks have to be compatible.

To check the compatibility of your locks, try inserting the key that opens one of the doors into the keyholes of all the other locks. If the key can be inserted easily (even if it doesn’t turn within the lock), the locks are compatible. If the key does not fit, the hardware will need to be replaced in order to rekey the lock(s) to one key.
